First Lines Fridays: June 19, 2020

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

First Lines:

“You know why you keep losing, cause, guess what, you’re a fucking loser.”

These are those books you meant to read in 2016 or 2015 or 2014 and never got around to. Those books that have been sitting on your TBR for a while, and you really want to get to. These aren’t upcoming 2017 releases; these are older books that need your love too!

  1. Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
  2. Persuasion by Jane Austen *Finished October 2017; Persuasion Project*
  3. Ophelia by Lisa Klein
  4. Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink *Finished February 2017; Review*
  5. Hick by Andrea Portes

If you’ve read any of these, please feel free to reblog or send me an ask with your thoughts!
